A Novel Comb-line Leaky-wave Antenna for 77 GHz FMCW Automotive Radar System and Comparison with Buttler Beamformers

For a typical frequency modulated continuous wave automotive radar system, design using novel leaky-wave antenna is proposed that has simple, cheap and easy manufacturing structure whose performance compared with two different arrays. The software used were MATLAB CST Microwave Studio. first system was an inset-fed patch array, the second circular array Buttler beamforming network as beam scanning mechanism. simulation results of three designs are obtained range-Doppler method for multi-target scenarios. excels arrays, which offer cheaper simpler solutions industry.
